Season 2 Update 20

4

- In episode 14, Henry tells Sayid he arrived on the island 4 months ago.

- In episode 14, Sayid tells the American army that the pilot was buried 4 KM's from where they are.

15

- In One Of Them, Locke tells Jack 'right 15' is the first number of the safe combination.

23

- In One Of Them, Sayid says he was 23 years old when the Americans first came to his country.

MIXED

- When Sayid is viewing the video on sarin gas, in the bottom of the screen the numbers 23108-42 appear. 23 & 42.

The number 108, the sum of 4 8 15 16 23 42, hasn't appeared very many times in the show (yet). It did appear written in One Of Them though, so if it starts appearing very regularly as a number I might make a section for it.

Constellation Connection?

Was the game of Connect Four that Larry was playing in 'Numbers' a significant clue? No one knows for sure, but 2 users at the Lost - TV Forum have presented interesting theories.

NeillT006, a registered member of the forum, came up with the idea of mapping out the Numbers, 4 8 15 16 23 42, onto the 42 spaces of a Connect Four board, and seeing where they would lie.

This is an actual screencap from an episode of LOST, where the Big Dipper (Ursa Major) constellation is displayed for a few frames. When the Numbers, 4 8 15 16 23 42, are matched up in their corresponding spaces on a Connect Four board, it mimicks the constellation.

Messier objects are a set of astronomical objects catalogued by Charles Messier in his catalogue of Nebulae and Star Clusters first published in 1774. The original motivation behind the catalogue was that Messier was a comet hunter, and was frustrated by objects which resembled but were not comets. He therefore compiled a list of these objects.

In the night sky, Messier object 108 (known as M108) is a spiral galaxy residing in the constellation Ursa Major. 4 + 8 + 15 + 16 + 23 + 42 = 108. And if you map out the Numbers on a Connect Four board, it is the shape of Ursa Major. Could this be a coincidence?

In another theory, yung23, one of the moderators of the forum, came up with the theory that each star in Ursa Major represents one of the six hatch stations. Dr. Marvin Candle said the Swan was one of 6 stations on the island. Could each star represent the location of a hatch? Yung23 made this to display his theory:

Is this possible? Or are we just a little too obsessed with the show? This idea may not be too far-fetched. It has long been suggested that 3 of the Great Egyptian pyramids of Giza align with the 3 belt stars in the constellation Orion.

Plug: If you haven't joined the Lost - TV Forum yet, you could be missing out on some great theories.
