    that's not cool

    I sent by e-mail a list of like 20 things, none of which had been added when i sent the e-mail, and none of them have been updated yet!
    here's the list of things i found:

    Season 1
    4: the number of times Hurley yells "The numbers are bad!" in Exodus Part II
    8: number of times Hurley tells Locke "Stop" before Locke lights the fuse to blow open the hatch
    Mixed:
    On Charlie's left shoulder, the words "Living is easy with eyes closed". These are words from the Beatle's song "Strawberry Fields Forever", which was released as a single on February 13, 1967
    2(February) + 13 = 15
    1 + 9 + 6 + 7 = 23

    Season 2
    4:The number of COMPLETE tims Michael calls for Walt.
    Micheal: "Walt! Walt! Walt!"
    Sawyer: some crap about saving energy and whatnot
    Micheal: some retaliatory crap about hoping his son can hear him. "Wah-" gathers energy "WALT!!!!!!!!"
    Number of times Sawyer calls for Jin in Adrift in the water
    The number of times Desmond tells Jack to put down the gun in both "Man of Science, Man of Faith", and "Adrift"
    Number of people thrown into the pit in "Orientation"
    Number of people who ENTER the hatch in "Orientation" (Jack, Sayid, Kate, Hurley, in no particular order)
    8:The number of people in the opening scene in "Orientation" (Jin, Sawyer, Michael, and 5 other people Jin called "the Others")
    Number of people who go through the jungle to the pit (the 3 from the raft and 5 'Others')
    The Number of the loudest beep we heard going at the fast pace
    23: As of "Orientation", we have met and discovered the names of 23 people who have lived on the island at some point since season 1 began:
    Jack, Kate, Locke, Hurley, Charlie, Claire, Shannon, Boone, Michael, Walt, Sayid, Sawyer, Sun, Jin, Aaron, Danielle, Desmond, Rose, Joanne, Ethan, Scott, Steve, and Mark (the marshall)

    -blew up at 1:23
    -reactor #4 is what started the chain reaction

    -116,000 people were evacuated

    23 survivors from the tailend of plane, but now down to just 4.

    44 original survivors in the main group. Marhsall, Boone and the teacher have died, but the baby was born. That makes it 42 in that group.

    WRONG
    48 survived from the front of the plane.
    Mark (the marshall) died in Tabula Rasa
    Joanne died in White Rabbit
    Artz died in Exodus
    Boone died in Do No Harm
    Scott died in some episode...
    Aaron was born in Do No Harm
    that makes 44 survivors. Not 42.

    and who thinks that the list i posted above (yes, the same joemoron2000) should be added?

    people,
    aren't you getting a bit literal with those numbers?!
    8 pieces of chicken?!? 4 cavities...15 lice

    If you count the trees in the forest and multiply by 5 and then subtract the bugs and how many times Locke took a s**t and then the grains on the beach and...

    thi is a bit obsessive!!!!!!!!!!!!

    900 trillion has 15 digits
    900,000,000,000,000

    Hey dude,

    1. On the season 2 update the article published by Gabriel came to the conlcusion that the numbers produce the letters D H A R M A. I'm a bhuddist and the word 'Dharma' is a word closely associated word for our philosophy/faith. It deals with the bhuddist philoshpy that you need to find the truth by yourself by lettin go of materials and desires and your day to day lives, and you keep being re-born until you find it. And in lost the basic idea is that these people are taken away from the day to day lives trying to not only escape the island but also to try and find the truth (about the island and about each other and their true selves.) This goes pretty deep, but then again the show is pretty deep as well.

    2. John Locke (the real one whom I believe the character is based on) was a 17th century philosopher who wrote on many things. On his fourth (The number '4') book he beleives that somethings could be discovered by using reason (Like Jack) or by using your ,faith/revelations of faith, (Like John)and both of these things are necessary for us or perhaps our survival.

    The Lost numbers seem to be related to the Fibonacci series, or more precisely the Tetranacci series which is a derivative of the Fibonacci series.

    Tetranacci numbers are the sum of the previous four terms in the series and go as follows:

    1, 1, 2, 4, 8, 15, 29, 56, 108, 208, 401, 773, 1490, 2872, 5536, ...

    Notice that 4, 8, 15 as well as the sum of the six numbers 108 are all in the series.

    16 can be derived as the sum of the first five terms in the Tetranacci series 1+1+2+4+8=16

    23 is the sum of the previous two term in the series 8+15=23

    And 42 is the sum of three term in the series: 4+15+23=42

    Not conclusive, but interesting.

    Ok, just dont add them togehter, just see what each and every number stands for.

    4 is D
    8 is H
    15 is O
    16 is P
    23 is W
    42 is P

    DH = Dharma
    OP = Operation
    WP = Waypoint

    could be a "waypoint" number, some sort of "code" which you need to continue or something. Don't make it to hard :D

    Along a similar line, try adding the first to the others. The numbers may spell out LOST & CY(?) when converted into the alphabet:

    4 8 15 16 23 42...

    4+8 = 12 (L)
    15 = 15 (O)
    4+15 = 19 (S)
    4+16 - 20 (T)
    4 + 23 = 27 (C if repeat round the alphabet again?)
    4 + 42 = 46 (Y ditto?)

    Any thoughts on what the last two are?

    I dont know where to put this since this is my first time on this site, but I just got caught up from the first season and i wanted to add an occurance of then number 15. Whey Sawyer, Micheal, Walt and Yin are on the raft and Micheal is about to turn on the radar. Sawyer tells him not to because they are only 15 miles out. Then he turns it on and the people come to take away Walt.

    You forgot about Paulo and his gf for the survivors from the front section, and how does a dead body count into this.
