We've come across several groups on the island of varying sizes- the original group we met is now described as 40 people, but Walt is lost and one member died. (Do I have this straight? I'm not sure about the baby...) The new group we just met was originally 23. I believe the French woman was originally in a group of 4. There's the pirate group, and I'm speculating that perhaps there are 2 more groups we haven't yet met, any of which might be made up of 8, 15 or 16 people. Is this a social experiment to determine the effect of group size on survival? Is John Locke a shill, or was his paralysis hysterical?
* Welcome to The LOST Numbers. The site dedicated to finding the number references 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, & 42 used in episodes of ABC's critically acclaimed and award-winning drama series LOST.

it's not 23, 42, 48, it's 23, 42, 4 and 8 (and yes, added up are 23)

if you create a timestamp with these numbers, it generates a date on 6/26/1986
date('n/j/Y', 4815162342);
I don't really know if the means anything, but i thought it was pretty neat..
